Came across this very cool little gadget....BlogRovr and as their tagline says "Your blogs delivered, whereever you browse", download their widget for Firefox and it will search what you search then suggest and notify you of blogs that might be of interest.   You are then off and running.  You can also add a chick to your own website to let others know that you are a BlogRovr too....

So check it out and see if it will work for you....

Our Hearts are hurting...

What a tragic day Monday was.   I didn't know anyone at Virginia Tech but I feel their pain.  We've got to wonder where our society is heading because of the amount of violence that seems to be everywhere we look.  I often turn off the nightly news for the simple fact that it seems that the majority of the stories before the first commercial break are about something tragic.

We can only educate ourselves and reach out to those who are suffering.  I'll get back onto the books soon, but I want to send out my condolences to all of the families and friends of anyone at Virginia Tech.

Do you charge for you speaking time

If you are someone who charges consulting time while speaking with clients using this program with Skype might be an addition to your systems.

How it works, set your rate, you call your client using skype start the time with your client and then at the end of the conversation the amount of time used will be charged using PayPal....stream line!

The challenges of life....

Yes, I know I've been away awhile.  Well simply put life has caught up with me and the updating of the blog is currently not a top priority.  I might be gone (but not forgotten!) for another few days, maybe a week.  But I'll be back and stronger than ever, so please stay tuned...

As a virtual assistant I'm constantly on the lookout for progams that can make my business life simpler while working for clients.  Though this service is still in it's intial beta phase I have a feeling it will easily become a program that I'll be able to use on a regular basis.  Check them out, sign up to be notified when they're ready for beta testers.  I have.

SendOutCards - the Personal Touch

This is a small departure from my regular posts, but I wanted to take the time to introduce you to a very useful website.  If you are anything like me I still like the personal touch of receiving a card in the mail, but if you're anything like me you have the best of intentions for going to the store to pick up a card, write the note and then find a stamp and finally write the address and then mail it.

I know for me I'm notorious for getting the card, writing the card, even putting the stamp on the card, but never mailing it.  Terrible, terrible.

SendoutCards.com takes care of it all.  Available in Canada and the US, you simply set up an account, sign in, pick your card, write your note and they take care of the rest.  Certainly works for me!   

A very cool feature of the service is you can even have it sent in your own hand writing, using their special software.   Wow, certainly could make sending personal invites so much simpler, and think about corporate christmas cards or even our own personal cards....

Very handy indeed.
